Keypad Access Codes and Verbal Passcodes
It is important to understand the difference between the two codes that you use for your security system. One allows you to arm and disarm your security system, while the other verifies your identity on the telephone.
The following are definitions of the two codes used by VOXCOM customers. For your safety, these codes should always be different.
Keypad Access Code
This is the code used to arm or disarm your security system via the keypad. It serves to help verify your identity to ensure you are authorized to access the home. If you ever accidentally set off your alarm, simply enter your Keypad Access Code to stop the siren from going off. This code is 100 percent confidential so you and the trusted people with whom you share it are the only ones who know it. VOXCOM has no access to or knowledge of your keypad access code.
Verbal Passcode
This is the code you are asked for when contacting any department at VOXCOM. It serves to verify your identity over the telephone and permits you to access and make updates to your alarm account. It can also verify your identity to our Emergency Response Operators if you've accidentally set off your alarm. You can assign different verbal pass codes to everyone who has access to your location. A Verbal Passcode can be a word, a series of numbers or an alphanumeric string.
